Badass Weekend

It was a venture conceived to be a gathering of the friends whom I hold most dear. Poorly  planned through months of miscalculations and executed with a hearty desire for the random. A weekend that included only those whose souls could endure the tribulations of insanity.

We made it what it was. The best of times confined in a limitless desert. I have the pictures to prove it.

I'm not posting this so that you can understand, because if you weren't there you never will. I simply hope that you will appreciate these few recordings of light that me and my Nikon made.

Everybody is stupid

Having kids really changes things.

I use to seek danger, excitement and mayhem, always having fun along the way. Today my love and I took the kids on a mystery trip, similar to the random adventures my parents use to take my brother and I on. Shortly into the rubber hitting dirt, mere miles from civilization, we were in mortal peril.

Not much beyond the typical that I've grown accustomed too, but suddenly other people relied on me to save the day. I haven't been "scared" like that in awhile.

As the adrenaline flowed through my veins I recalled all the times my dad scared the poo out of us. His calm demeanor replaced my nervous apprehension and I thought carefully through the situation.

Shortly we were on the way and the rest of the adventure went smooth as a white russian into the open mouth of impatient oblivion.

It was a brilliant way to spend my first pagan new year as a thirty something and I couldn't have asked for better.

Never give your best away.

I thought about posting these stories on the Daily Press web site, but I found that just writing them down was good enough.  It would have been an epic way to quit this job though.

White House - President Barak Obama encouraged the nation to pray for dead presidents, during a speech in honor of President’s day.
“I know all you folks out there and ya’ll are pretty much depending on me to fix this stuff”, Obama said.
“However, most of you know that there ain’t all that much I can do to control the economy, make my buddy Rahm behave himself or even pull my own head out of my posterior. All you niggas out there aught to stop whining about what I’m doing or what I’m not and just start praying fo Dead Presidents.”
The nation was almost left speechless after the display of such honesty, especially as it was coming from a politician.
Even the conservative pundit Glen Beck had to give the President some “props”.
“All I can say is wow, America. This is the kind of fair and balanced reporting that we wish we could do here on Fox News, unfortunately most of us have been unable to remove our heads from our rear ends as well, which has basically led to a lot of crap coming out of people’s mouths a whole heck of a lot.”, Beck said.


Victorville - Authorities are searching for an area man, whom they consider armed and extremely dangerous.
Matthew Joel Nabors, 30, was last seen leaving the office of the Daily Press in a blue Toyota Matrix. The vehicle does not belong to him.
He is described as a pink male human, 250 pounds with blonde hair, blue eyes and a flair for the dramatic.
It is unknown where he is heading but authorities encourage anyone who spots him to call 911.
“That boy ain’t right.” according to his Psychoanalyst Dr. Nick Arthur.
It is believed that a long brewing argument with his fiancé Heather Bowman has caused him to go “over the edge”, according to a witness who asked to remain anonymous for fear of his safety.
Authorities are particularly concerned as Mr. Nabors is known to associate with some pretty rough characters.
A post on facebook by one of his friends reads as follows: “If I didn't have plans for the day already I would bring my pile of guns and go shooting with you.”
When asked for comment about his future plans Matthew stated simply, “Well now it's Sunday and I "have" to go to work. FML.”

That was an extreme circumstance. What happened last week isn...'t something that happens every day, and I think should could have tried to be a little more understanding and human about it. I was mostly shocked at the woman's lack of naivety in her comments. @Alvarado- I agree, it's certainly more than any one specific culture that not only displays obnoxious behavior but just "annoys"... in general. And you're right, everyone is annoyed by something, culturally-biased or not. @Reneh- I agree with the P.C. filters being severely detrimental to honesty and sincerity, but there not only is a time and a place, but there must have been a more effective way to communicate an opinion such as being annoyed by someone talking loudly on a cell phone in a library than what she delivered in this video. @Karen- Troll is a funny word.     Last week was a unique situation which has nothing to do with political correctness, it has to do with sensitivity. She herself brought up the tsunami making reference to the tragedy in Japan so she was specifically talking about those Asia...ns and even with that she was still insensitive enough to make those remarks.

computers suck

I can get a lot done with a working computer. Sadly my main comp has been acting up for awhile now, and from what I can tell (after several hours of trouble shooting and research) I need a windows xp disk to fix my troubles. Naturally I doubt there is one I have access to. I guess I have to seek out help on this issue, and when I get my stuff back up and running I'll post something else.
